We offer free one-to-one, individualized tutoring using the Orton-Gillingham approach. On average, children participate in the program for 2-3 years.
During the school year:
Sessions are available twice per week for an hour each session and run for 28 weeks during the school year, held after school hours.
During the summer:
Sessions are offered for 6 weeks during the summer, twice per week for an hour in the mornings.
Our Goal: For our students to read at grade level when they graduate from the program
Student progress is evaluated annually using the following standardized tests:
The Woodcock Reading Mastery Test-Revised Test of Written Spelling Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP) Test of Word Reading Efficiency (TOWRE)
Children who are having reading difficulties and are suspected of having dyslexia must have been tested by a licensed psychologist (school or independent) before they apply for tutoring at our center. The application form must be returned to the center with a copy of the complete psychological evaluation in order for the child to be considered for our program.
To apply for tutoring:
-
Download, print, and complete the Admission Application Form
